Who can join?
The Institute identifies extraordinary young people who face barriers to opportunity. We begin where Coach Wren began, with football in South Florida, and the model is designed to expand across athletics, education, the arts, and communities nationwide.

Through coaches, teachers, families, and community members who already know them. Talent is universal. The people who notice it are usually already nearby.
What does it cost a family?
Nothing. Removing barriers is the point. A family should never encounter a cost as a condition of participating.

Every adult is background screened and trained before any contact. Two screened adults are present, or activities occur in open observable settings. All communication includes a parent or guardian. Every adult is personally required by Florida law to report any concern directly to the Florida Abuse Hotline. Our full standards are published.

Applying, and what changes after graduation.
How do I become a mentor or advisor?
Mentors apply and complete screening and training before being placed. Advisors are invited by the Board. Both conversations start the same way, by writing to us.

Nothing changes about our commitment. Membership does not expire, because our responsibility does not expire. The relationship evolves as they move into a career and, in time, into mentoring someone else.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
The Coach Wren Institute is in the process of being established as a Florida nonprofit corporation and will seek recognition as a 501(c)(3) public charity.
Contributions made before federal tax-exempt status is granted may not be tax-deductible. Donors should consult their tax advisors.

What the Institute is, and isn't.
Is this a school?
No. The Institute is defined by lifelong access to extraordinary people, not by instruction. There is no curriculum, no classes, and no coursework. What we provide is relationships, and the barriers removed so that those relationships can do their work.
